My first Sybarite doll .

After looking for her for a long time,I have bid her from ebay Canada. She has arrived on April,2,2011.Very beautiful than I have seen in the pictures.

I planned to dress her by mix and match fashion "vintage with a modern trend".A strapless silk dress with a pleated skirt adorned with lace and sequins.

Matching with vintage hat decorated with lace and flowers.I used dried flowers and saa paper flowers that I bought from Doi Kam The Thai royal project shop.

The handmade hat help this dress look more vintage.

Matching with long jacket. This jacket was made of flower printed Thai silk.Thai orchid in pink ,purple and fuchsia colour on fabric.I love this fabric and I have collected many clothes from Thai rural .I bought them for my dolls. After finished the outfit.I have taken photographs by using natural light from outdoor studio.

A wooden chair help me easily to post her.

Thai silk hand bag decorated with the same lace.

She looks vintage ,soft and elegance.

Songkran Thai New Year

Happy Thai New Year

Songkran 2011

The Songkran is celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year's Day

from 13 to 15 April. Hello! My name is Ayumi. May I tell you about The Songkran Festival in Thailand.

Songkran was traditionally a time to visit and pay respects to elders,

including family members,friends,neighbors and monks.

Thai people celebrating Songkran may go to a Wat(Buddhist momastery)

to pray and give food to monks. In northern Thailand ,people may carry handful of sand to their neighborhood monastery in order to recompense the dirt that they have carried away on their feet during the rest of the year. The sand is then sculpted into stupa-shaped piles and decorated with colour flags.
They may also cleanse Buddha images from household shrines by gently pouring water mixed with a Thai fragrance over them.It is believed that doing this will bring good luck and prosperity for the New Year.
The throwing of water originated as a way to pay respect to people ,by capturing the water after it had been poured over the Buddha for cleansing and then using the blessed water to give good fortune to elders and family by

gently pouring it on the shoulder.

The water is meant as a symbol of washing all of the bad away and is sometimes filled with fragrant herbs when celebrated in the traditional manner.

May I introduce you the good proverb

from

ท่าน V.Vajiramedhi

"May the timeless message of Songkran fill your heart and home

with joy today and throughout the coming year"
